Intermediate Education was introduced in the State of Andhra Pradesh in the acedemic year 1969-70 based on the recommendations of the KOTHARI COMMISSION. Consequent of this development, junior lecturer came into existence in the field of education. The Govt. Junior Lecturers' Association was established in the year 1974 and recognised by the Governement in the year 1981. GJLA is the only recognised union in the field of Intermediate Education.
